A Retrospective: Fortress Studio Update

August 27, 2010 · 3 comments

In a fit of nostalgia, last night I watched the studio update that Protest the Hero recorded back in the summer of 2007 for Fortress. It may just be me, but it’s pretty cool to look back and recognize the slick, groovy part of Limb From Limb, or some of the drumming from Palms Read.

The unfortunate thing is that this was the only studio video we ever got from the Fortress sessions. It’s my sincere hope that Protest is a bit more proactive in supplying us with some goodies this time around! What I’d LOVE to see is a video for each section:  guitars, bass, drums, and vocals — all without spoiling the surprise of the record, though.

My friend told me there was a video of Rody holding a cat he found outside while doing vocals, and that’s the meowing sound on the album.
